Centralized monitoring of vehicle gateways and onboard vehicle equipment
As more and more vehicle onboard applications are used, it is increasingly important to be able to identify the devices and monitor their performance. Introduction of vehicle gateways with standardized communication between onboard vehicle equipment
The activity level is high when it comes to standardization of public transportation in Europe, not least regarding integration of onboard vehicle applications. Pilotfish is taking part in the proceedings of CEN TC278 and is an active part of the standardization work connected to the vehicle gateway and the onboard integration platform of the future. The work is mainly performed within the CEN (European Committee for Standardization) and the EBSF (European Bus System of the Future) EU-projects.
Another area within the frame of EBSF is standardized cables and contacts. This will enable the vehicle manufacturers to prepare for onboard equipment installations with lowered costs and time efficient installations as a consequence.
The use of BUS-FMS, a standard interface to vehicle data of commercial vehicles, is expected to increase in the future and EN 50/155 is used more and more. The increased use and accuracy of vehicle data enables for smart applications with high precision.
