Challenge

To modernize and improve the working environment and daily operations for the drivers of the entire fleet as well as the traffic control center and the workshop. Unibuss also wanted to improve communication between the drivers, the back office and the workshop.
It was equally important to integrate the third-party systemsTrapeze, InfoEasy, the BUS-FMS interface, the Tachograph, Alco Lock and Driver Navigation into one IT ecosystem.

Solution

Since the buses already were equipped with Pilotfish® Vehicle Gateway and the Pilotfish® Drivers Consol with its Android based user interface, they were well set up for the transition. The Pilotfish vendor-neutral onboard IT platform, based on the open ITxPT (Information Technology for Public Transport) standard, enables integration of all third-party systems and apps. The open standard integration makes all future IT investments easier and more cost effective.
The Gateway enables onboard information sharing which improves functionality of all onboard equipment, a single connection and addressing for all on-board equipment and mobile device management with push updates, monitoring and surveillance.
It also enables information collection from the vehicle fleet, fault management, alarms in traffic, Fuel Economy, better flow of information for the workers, more efficient day to day work, improved traveler experience, follow-up procedures of accidents and education of personnel.
