This digital twin solution built on years of extensive experience in the public transport is the tool needed by all PTOs or PTAs to fully monitor their onboard IT environment.

The inventory service available in the Pilotfish VCP provides a wide range of information and status that are collected and used to trigger smart management rules aiming to facilitate and speed-up the decision process for public transport operations.

Complete visibility of your onboard IT environment

In one simple and user-friendly web interface you get a detailed and accurate overview of your onboard IT environment.

The Pilotfish Gateway scans the vehicle on a regular basis and collects the available health status and information for each IP equipment declared the onboard network. By default all ITxPT equipment are supported. We also support other standards such as MQTT, SNMP…

Turn data into actionable decisions

The treatment of all this collected data is critical as it is intended to provide our customers with the right information to make the right decision. With Pilotfish Onboard Insight it is possible to trigger smart management rules that will instantly show different issues with different levels of severity. Let’s take an example.

One ticket validator onboard has been missing for about 30min. The operations center receives an alarm in OBI immediately. After some remote verification and a quick discussion with the driver,  it is decided to leave the bus in traffic as it is approaching the end of its shift and the rest of the equipment is working fine.

At the same time there is another vehicle having all its 3 validators not communicating anymore with the Pilotfish Gateway. This vehicle has not left the depot yet. OBI shows reds issues on the 3 devices but the Pilotfish Gateway and the other systems all work as they should. In only a few minutes it is decided to use a spare vehicle to cover this busy morning route and proceed with the standard maintenance process during the day.

Combine data for a complete operational picture

One of Pilotfish’ bigger strength is to collect and combine data from various sources. Onboard Insight is one other example of this singular capacity. 

Vehicle millage, temperature, battery level, active telltales, position, etc. all this information is available and shown together with pure IT data. By combining this, we provide the most accurate picture of a given vehicle at a given time.

We also facilitate the management of this complex ecosystem as OBI proposes simple actions and a detailed event history that will improve the quality and the efficiency of the diagnostics.

I/O Management

I/O Management extends Onboard Insight from visibility to direct control of onboard systems. In addition to monitoring input and output states, operators can interact with connected components to act on issues as they occur.

By enabling remote actions such as restarting devices or managing power, I/O Management helps you reduce the need for on-site intervention. This supports faster diagnostics, more efficient maintenance and improved uptime across the onboard environment.
